Mastermind Andras reveals the essence of his new album: “Entzweiung” deals with two inherently opposing forces that have always existed within me, whose relentless tear on existence establishes the act of Entzweiung. On the one hand, a profound yearning for maximum distance from this world, a desire for tranquility, for freedom from external impressions, entanglements, and relationships. A pursuit of ultimate detachment from everything deemed contemptible “human” as a potentially last resort for healing.
On the other hand, a force diametrically opposed, binding consciousness like chains to earthly existence, engulfing one in its sadistic omnipotence, drawing the “soul” into darkness, slowly devouring it from within. Without further defining the origin of these antagonists here, my creative endeavors have always been inseparably linked to their existence. And ultimately, they might even be one and the same.

band's frontman, Haitao Yang, who was shot and briefly declared
medically dead.
During this time, Haitao experienced
hallucinations of another world that brought an overwhelming sense of
terror and isolation.

experience of what it feels like to die and recounts the visions he
had while bleeding out.
Lyrically, the album deals with the
trauma of death, the pain of recovery and the emotional disconnect
that comes with trying to live a normal life again after
trauma.

This
album is a journey into the deepest and rottenest dawn, wrapped in
bitter ashes and without any glimmer of hope, wishing to have spent
another day in this coffin of broken memories that hurt my arms every
moment and made me feel like the blades inside me.
I tear my
breath, drown my tears, try to disappear amidst the cold and remain
unconscious until the blood coagulates. The view through the mirror
is hypnotized by the visible deterioration of the outside, while the
inside has withered like autumn leaves.
As I have become part of
my everyday life, this feeling has never left me, the good and bad
things in life are welcome to create a painful past; It is another
wound on my skin that I want to carry to the grave with me until the
end.
My main inspiration is my own feelings, my own experiences
with depression, anxiety (hard but real), agoraphobia (during),
schizophrenia (these are like scars in my head), loneliness, etc.
I
took that too, the decision to keep it close to my life, to keep
writing stories like this.

Thematically, the four survivors accompany a fictional person who went missing on the debut expedition. The lonely wanderer has to find his way back to “his” world after being awakened by the goddess Pana. He passes abysses of nature, as well as of his soul, crosses oceans and finally has to find out that the world as he knew it no longer exists. The tortured spirit finally finds consolation in the Maelstrom of Souls - Adlivun.
Arctic Sea Survivors expand their musical range like never before and draw with rugged riffs, playful post-rock parts, sludge parts in NOLA style and occasional post-black metal outbreaks, the path of the individual to himself. Through psychological and spiritual challenges, through purification and catharsis into awakening.

Laang冷 („Cold“), a post-black metal band originating in Keelung Taiwan is born from the horrifying experience of the band’s frontman楊海濤 during a near-death experience when shot.
Xinteng 心疼, meaning “emotional turmoil” and “to love dearly” in Mandarin, is the musical representation of the pain, misery, and terror associated with this trauma and recovery.
