Mastermind Andras reveals the essence of his new album: “Entzweiung” deals with two inherently opposing forces that have always existed within me, whose relentless tear on existence establishes the act of Entzweiung. On the one hand, a profound yearning for maximum distance from this world, a desire for tranquility, for freedom from external impressions, entanglements, and relationships. A pursuit of ultimate detachment from everything deemed contemptible “human” as a potentially last resort for healing. On the other hand, a force diametrically opposed, binding consciousness like chains to earthly existence, engulfing one in its sadistic omnipotence, drawing the “soul” into darkness, slowly devouring it from within. Without further defining the origin of these antagonists here, my creative endeavors have always been inseparably linked to their existence. And ultimately, they might even be one and the same. Laang's third album Riluo 日落 is inspired by the trauma and recovery of the band's frontman, Haitao Yang, who was shot and briefly declared medically dead. During this time, Haitao experienced hallucinations of another world that brought an overwhelming sense of terror and isolation. This album explores the feeling and experience of what it feels like to die and recounts the visions he had while bleeding out. Lyrically, the album deals with the trauma of death, the pain of recovery and the emotional disconnect that comes with trying to live a normal life again after trauma. This album is a journey into the deepest and rottenest dawn, wrapped in bitter ashes and without any glimmer of hope, wishing to have spent another day in this coffin of broken memories that hurt my arms every moment and made me feel like the blades inside me. I tear my breath, drown my tears, try to disappear amidst the cold and remain unconscious until the blood coagulates. The view through the mirror is hypnotized by the visible deterioration of the outside, while the inside has withered like autumn leaves. As I have become part of my everyday life, this feeling has never left me, the good and bad things in life are welcome to create a painful past; It is another wound on my skin that I want to carry to the grave with me until the end. My main inspiration is my own feelings, my own experiences with depression, anxiety (hard but real), agoraphobia (during), schizophrenia (these are like scars in my head), loneliness, etc. I took that too, the decision to keep it close to my life, to keep writing stories like this. Depressionland - All songs are composed by Sarp Keski (Bipolar Architecture). Recorded, mixed and mastered by Fabian Hildebrandt (Eisensound Studios - Jena / GERMANY), Album artwork by Orçun Kocakoç. Post Metal outfit Bipolar Architecture’s first full-length album Depressionland consist of 9 songs which also includes band’s first released EP. As it could be sensed by the name of the album, the atmosphere of songs is depressive and based on human emotion, philosophy and inner world. There are 9 different songs with different themes but same atmosphere. It is possible to hear all the influences of genres such as Post-Rock, Post-Metal, Blackgaze, Djent. Album starts with the name bearer song “Depressionland” and goes on with “The Criticizer” which had many positive feedbacks through the year. There is also one instrumental post-rock song called “If Words Were Swords”.
